Viña Costeira
DO Ribeiro, Spain (70% Treixadura, 20% Torrontes, 10% other) 750 ml Download Shelf Talker BACKGROUND Viña Costeira is a balanced blend of the varieties Treixadura, Torrontés, Loureira—indigenous grapes of Ribeiro. The grapes come from the best slopes (costeiras) that the rivers Miño and Avia form surrounding the medieval village of Ribadavia. After a gentle pressing, the grape juice undergoes a traditional fermentation, with each variety fermented separately in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures under 18ºC to preserve the delicate primary aromas of each varietal. Once fermentation finishes, we make a selective aging on the lees. Finally the wines are blended to achieve the perfect balance of the different varieties before they are cold-stabilized and bottled. TASTING NOTES Easygoing apple, pear and citrus aromas precede a mild palate that’s a touch dilute. Melon, papaya and tropical flavors finish with a sense of lightness. This is 70% Treixadura with Torrontés and.

DO Ribeiro
Bodega Vitivinicola del Ribeiro Ribeiro DO (Denominación de Origen) is a wine region within the Galiciaautonomous region of Spain. It is located between the famous Rias Baixasto the west and Ribeira Sacra to the east. The Ribeiro DO title was official established in 1957, and is governed by the local Consejo Regulador(wine-regulating authority). Winemaking has long been important to Ribeiro – the Romans introduced the tradition in ancient times and Cistercian monks acted as custodians throughout the Middle Ages. Since early times, wine has been the region’s primary source of income and employment. Four rivers – the Barbatino, Avia, Arnoia and Miño – converge here, and vineyards line the river valley floors and terraces cling to the steep hillsides. The maritime influence of the Atlantic Ocean is evident in Ribeiro, with relatively high rainfall and humidity, although its inland location shelters it from the brunt of Atlantic storms. It is also.
