Casa de la Vega Rueda Superior Verdejo

DO Rueda, Spain (100% Verdejo) 750ml VINEYARDS Avelino Vegas S.A. controls more than 475 hectares of vineyard, located mainly in the area of Segovia, where he has placed his winery. In this area the vineyards are small, mostly between 1 and 3 hectares. The cultivated varieties are Verdejo and Sauvignon and the vines have an average age of 35 years, that contribute to elaborate wines with a great complexity of aromas and good structure. ELABORATION The harvest is made after a rigorous control of maturation. After destemming the grapes, a light cold film maceration takes place to increase the aromatic intensity of the must. The grape is soft pressed and the clean must is fermented to a controlled temperature during a period of 20 days. The new wine is racked and remains in contact with the fine lees, providing the wine of more volume and complexity. TASTING NOTES Straw yellow coloured with light greenish borders, clean and bright. Great expressiveness on.

Txakoli Oreka

DO Getariako-Txakolina, Spain (100% Hondarribi Zuri) 750 ml 90 points in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “The 2007 Oreka is 100% Hondarribi Zuri aged in stainless steel. Light straw-colored, it has an uplifted nose of slate/mineral, green apple, and spring flowers. This is followed by a crisp, balanced, dry, intensely flavored wine with solid length. It is an ideal accompaniment to oysters, clams, and barnacles.” (08/08) TX03.

Txakoli Talai Berri

DO Getariako-Txakolina, Spain (90% Hondarribi Zuri, 10% Hondarribi Beltza) 750 ml Talai Berri White Txakoli is made of the two indigenous varieties: Hondarribi Zuri, making the 90% of vineyard, and Hondarribi Beltza, making the remaining 10%. It is a young, slightly sparkling wine with a moderate graduation (10.5º – 11.5º) with a very characteristic acid touch. It has a really bright yellow-green color with an expressive fine bubble. It has very complex bouquet with fruity aroma and fresh land notes in the background. In the gustative stage, we notice it is a dry, balanced and structured wine. Its aftertaste gives us fruity notes. In order to elaborate, one year and another, a Txakoli with such features, we use the most traditional methods with the most advanced machinery. This is how we pioneered the use of both the selection table and the vintage boxes cleaning machines. TX01.

Viña Costeira

DO Ribeiro, Spain (70% Treixadura, 20% Torrontes, 10% other) 750 ml BACKGROUND Viña Costeira is a balanced blend of the varieties Treixadura, Torrontés, Loureira—indigenous grapes of Ribeiro. The grapes come from the best slopes (costeiras) that the rivers Miño and Avia form surrounding the medieval village of Ribadavia. After a gentle pressing, the grape juice undergoes a traditional fermentation, with each variety fermented separately in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures under 18ºC to preserve the delicate primary aromas of each varietal. Once fermentation finishes, we make a selective aging on the lees. Finally the wines are blended to achieve the perfect balance of the different varieties before they are cold-stabilized and bottled. TASTING NOTES Spain has become quite adept at such fascinating, gentle white wines with tangy citrus notes as the dominant element. There is absolutely nothing of Chardonnay’s barrel-derived richness in this wine, but that is its allure:.

Castel de Fornos Albariño

DO Rias Baixas, Spain (100% Albariño) 750 ml “Bright and clear, the color of hay with a glint of green, Castel de Fornos is a high intensity wine with a torrent of complex aromas. First come the floral hints (gardenia, rose, orange blossom) then the fruit (apricot, orange peel, honey) with a background of herbs (laurel, anise, mint). The bouquet is that of a wonderful English garden.” ~Guide to Wines, Spirits and Wineries of Galicia (2013) RECENT REVIEWS Apple, melon and a dusty scent of white pepper get this round, apple-driven Albariño going. Pineapple, lime and orange flavors are solid and finish with a note of almond skin and bitter citrus pith. Drink immediately. 87 Points. — Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast (8/1/2015) AÑ03.

Brandy Real Tesoro

DO Jerez, Spain 1.0 L HISTORY The history of one of today’s largest Sherry houses dates back to 8th March 1760, when King Carlos III of Spain wrote a letter officially appointing His Excellence, Don Joaquin Manuel de Villena, lieutenant-general of the Spanish Royal Armada, as the ‘Marques del Real Tesoro’.   This title was bestowed on Don Joaquin by the King as reward for his victory when his fleet was attacked by pirate ships. In order not to lose any Crown treasure that his ships were carrying, Don Joaquin used silver from his own inheritance order to make munitions. It was on his triumphant return that the King rewarded him with this title.   In 1897, the title of Marques Del Real Tesoro, which was left unspoken for, was bestowed by King Alfonso XIII, to the grandson of the first Marques, who founded a brand name after his title MARQUES.
